November 20 – 23, 2019: Drew University’s Fall Dance show 2019, Conflict and Chaos!
“Performed through powerful movements created by Drew student choreographers, the theme of the fall dance show is Conflict and Chaos. Many of the pieces demonstrate the inner workings of mental illness and personal traumas. Therefore, some of the performances may be triggering to those who have personally experienced instances of childhood trauma and mental illness. It is a consistent fight between illusion and reality, revealing the panic and horror that lie deep within our nightmares. The pieces communicate the evidence of Conflict and Chaos’ permanence, by showing both small and large forms of it within our lives. It is a turbulent and transformative journey.
The show will generate genuine emotional responses for all who come to see it! Through it, I have gone on my own expedition of self-discovery and gained new perspectives from the world around me. There is so much to discover from experiencing these spectacular pieces!” ~ Maddie Emile C’20, Dramaturg
