Research Opportunity for Med School Gap Year Students

The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, a branch of Northwell Health located about 20 miles from Manhattan, is seeking applicants for its 12 month Clinical Outcomes Research Internship program. This paid opportunity is designed for May 2020 graduates seeking to remain in the medical profession. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to work on research projects on a variety of topics in one of five core research areas: Predictive Medicine, Behavioral Research, Decision Science, Community Health, and/or Health Services. Internship on the Non-Profit Side of Health and Medicine

Susan G. Komen North Jersey is looking for Spring and Summer 2020 interns with an interest in public health. The organization addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease. This is a great opportunity to see the other side of the research world – how funding is raised for research and how policy is advocated to support the efforts of researchers and doctors.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Summer Undergraduate Research Program

The Louis V. Gerstner, Jr. Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, sponsors a ten-week research program for outstanding undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in the biomedical sciences. 2020 Fred Hutch Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)

The SURP is an intensive, 9-week internship designed to provide research experience and mentorship for rising-senior undergraduate students who are interested in biomedical research.  Under the guidance of a faculty mentor, students will:

  • Complete an independent research project;
  • Attend weekly research seminars;
  • Participate in professional development workshops designed to facilitate the preparation of competitive applications for graduate or medical school;
  • Present their findings at a competitive poster session.
