Paid Summer Internships with Save the Children

Save the Children has posted over 20 internship opportunities in three different locations (DC, CT, KY) on Handshake, Drew’s job portal. These include a Humanitarian Policy Intern in Washington DC, where you would Support Save the Children’s advocacy work by conducting research on the U.S. government’s humanitarian response efforts, maintaining databases, taking minutes for internal and external meetings, drafting and editing communications materials (invitations, thank you letters, meeting notes, website content, PowerPoint presentations, fact sheets, etc.), attending and reporting out on Congressional hearings and briefings as well as NGO coalition working group meetings, and attending internal agency meetings and training sessions with the opportunity to learn about Save the Children’s programs and gain professional skills. Paid Internships with NJ Economic Development Authority

NJEDA has posted several internship opportunities in its North Brunswick and Trenton offices. This includes a Technology and Life Sciences internship where applicants will be reviewing applicants to participate in a $60 Million annual tax incentive program – the Technology Business Tax Certificate Transfer Program (NOL) The applicant will have a first-hand insight of New Jersey businesses which are looking to create business solutions around new technologies such as education technology, financial technology and scientific cures for cancer and rare disease, and the capital needs of these companies to grow their businesses in the state of New Jersey. The experience also includes interaction with a peer mentor, workshops, and networking events. NOTE: Drew alum currently working at NJEDA.

Government Affairs Internship with Tesla

Tesla is seeking undergraduate Government Relations and Public Policy interns to work with the full Government Relations team on policy development and analysis, and strategic engagement. This full time position requires a 3-6 month commitment where you will Gain breadth and depth of knowledge of policy issues facing Tesla, analyze policy initiatives for their impacts on Tesla, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Do you love soccer? Looking for a summer internship?

L.A.C.E.S. is a nonprofit that serves refugee youth in Washington D.C. and street children in Liberia and Sierra Leone, Africa. We mentor and train local communities to lead and organize soccer teams and leagues for marginalized children. This individual will lead the implementation of L.A.C.E.S. summer sports programs for refugee youth in the Greater Washington D.C. area. You will be given opportunities to take on unique responsibilities, relationship-building, program management and networking with various organizations and refugee populations in the D.C. metro area.

Paid Internship with Clean Water Action

Clean Water Action is currently hiring students to organize local grassroots campaigns to protect the health, economy, environment and livelihood of New Jersey communities. Ideal candidates possess strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to the environment, progressive politics and the empowerment of our fellow NJ residents. Their grassroots political organizers speak to New Jersey citizens about New Jersey issues, informing and educating the public, building support and channeling that support into action.

Full-Time Job with Project Self-Sufficiency

Project Self-Sufficiency is a non-profit organization which assists low-income families in northwestern New Jersey along the path to economic self-sufficiency.  Services include career guidance and assessment, computer classes, GED instruction, parenting workshops, childcare, legal assistance and education, help with emergency basic needs such as clothing and food, health education, support groups, life skills classes, family activities, home visitation, and more. The organization is seeking a Program Associate who would be responsible for community outreach, student recruitment, facilitating academic instruction, behavioral assessments, and providing leadership with community service projects.
