Summer Environmental Education Intern

Do you have a passion for the natural world with an interest in environmental or outdoor education and/or classroom science education? Check out internships offered by the Tenafly Nature Center, a 400 acre nature preserve, located in Tenafly, NJ.  These internships, for students with Sophomore or Junior standing will work with Center staff who are responsible for implementing and helping to develop a dynamic, high quality environmental education curriculum for year round programs, for a variety of groups and age levels. Curriculum is hands-on and geared toward helping children and adults to develop awareness, appreciation and stewardship for the natural world. A Tenafly Nature Center education intern works hard and develops the skills needed to continue in any career in the education/interpretive field. Find out more and how to apply on their website here. Graduating Seniors! Two AmeriCorps VISTA Positions

Graduating Seniors! Are you interested in addressing issues of healthcare and homelessness in our local area?  VISTA member benefits include a stipend, education award, health benefits and more. Family Promise of Morris County (FPMC) and the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris (MHAEM) are looking for two AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members, one who will be on site at MHAEM in and the other at FPMC. Both VISTA members’ activities will include engaging new and current landlords and creating relationships with county and community resources for individuals experiencing homelessness. In addition, the VISTA member who will be on site directly with FPMC will spend 40% of their time on development and grant writing to increase funding and opportunities for the county wide program. Both VISTA members will be involved with the Community Advisory Team, Neighbors in Need, as well as various other sub-committees. Application deadline March 27. Paid Summer Internships and FULL TIME JOBS with the NJ Board of Public Utilities

Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for some exciting internships at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, including this one in the NJBPU Chief of Staff’s office. As an intern to the Chief of Staff, you’ll be conducting policy research and analysis and coordinating stakeholder engagement, attending Board meetings, and helping update the 2020 New Jersey Energy Master Plan. The BPU requires that interns work a minimum of 10 weeks. Check out the link above to learn how to apply. NJBPU is the state agency with authority to oversee the regulated utilities, which in turn provide critical services such as natural gas, electricity, water, telecommunications and cable television. The law requires the Board to ensure safe, adequate, and proper utility services at reasonable rates for customers in New Jersey. The Board addresses issues of consumer protection, energy reform, deregulation of energy and telecommunications services and the restructuring of utility rates to encourage energy conservation and competitive pricing in the industry. Paid DC Internship with the Democratic Governors Association

If you are interested in political communication strategies and campaigning, the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the independent, non-profit, campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic governors, is seeking interns for the Summer 2020 term. DGA internships allow interested students to obtain practical political experience within the DGA Communications Department including policy and candidate research, monitoring and summarizing news clips related to governors and their policies, managing press and political contact information, drafting social media and e-mail contact for eventual publication, and administrative support to the DGA staff who are responsible for working with the nation’s Democratic governors and candidates to promote their agendas and position them to win campaigns.
