Today we hosted a Drew Zoom meeting with Joseph Forte, an HR rep from the NJ Civil Service. If you are looking for work IN ANY FIELD, please consider a job in state gov’t. They are hiring graduates from all majors and positions come with excellent benefits –healthcare, paid holidays and time off, tuition assistance for grad school, job security and the ability to move around and up to name a few.

Paid Fall and Spring Internships with the State of NJ Office of Higher Education
The State of New Jersey, Office of the Secretary of Higher Education seeks undergraduate student interns to conduct research, policy analysis, and assist with other special projects as needed. The Undergraduate Internship presents a unique opportunity to have a close view of policy making for post secondary education at an exciting time in the State’s future, with a new administration focused on higher education as a central theme of economic success. Interested candidates must have excellent writing skills, email and oral communication, research ability, and organization. Familiarity with New Jersey institutions and policy organizations is preferred.
For priority consideration for fall internships, apply by August 15.
For priority consideration for spring internships, apply by November 1.

Internships with the State of NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness
There are multiple internship opportunities for all majors in numerous bureaus in the NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness — Communications, Intelligence, Financial, Risk Management, Information Technology and more! Check them out here. All interns will complete a capstone presentation at the conclusion of their internship. During the course of their internship, they will also participate in field trips to NJOHSP partners’ locations and receive specialized training and insight.
Beware of the short application time-frame! It’s suggested that you follow them on social media so you know when the applications open. The application for the Fall Internship Program will be posted for a month every July. The application for the Spring Internship Program will be posted for a month each October.
