Bilingual Insurance Navigator (French or Spanish Required)

NADAP was awarded another 5 year contract by the New York State Department of Health. Our Health Insurance Navigator team currently helps New Yorkers enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace in Manhattan but also Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx starting on August 1st.
NADAP, Inc. is seeking full-time Benefits Navigators to provide health insurance enrollment and education to New York residents. The goal of the program is to educate and assist individuals and small businesses to enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace including Medicaid, Child Health Plus, the Essential Plan, and Qualified Health Plans. Navigators will work with participants to enroll them online into the NY State Health Insurance Marketplace.
  • Provides education and enrollment services to individuals and small businesses about the State’s healthcare plans
  • Achieves monthly contractual goals
  • Builds partnerships with local communities for enrollment and referral purposes.
  • Works at network partner sites to actively market and promote the program to target populations
  • Guides individuals through the Marketplace’s enrollment process
  • Enters service information into NADAP’s database, produces weekly enrollment reports, and writes post-event reports
  • Works with onsite organizations to coordinate referrals for eligible participants
  • Conducts outreach to community and participates in marketing events
  • Identifies and contacts eligible participants, through face-to-face outreach, email, phone
  • Schedules appointments with eligible participants, and follows-up with reminders, including phone and email contact
  • Attends staff meetings, trainings and providing program updates to managers
*During the current public health crisis Navigators will not be required to conduct field work
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • One year of job-related experience preferably in enrollment and outreach activities
  • Bilingual speaker is required (Spanish, French, preferred)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online research
  • Able to present in group settings
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask
  • Ability to work flexible hours with a rotating schedule. Working late nights and on weekends on occasion
  • Comfortable with field work (approx. 50%)

Employment Summer Intern

Job Description

PROGRAM: Employment
SUPERVISOR: Employment Specialist
CONNECTION TO MISSION: Obtaining steady employment is crucial to the economic stability and overall well-being of clients arriving to the U.S.
LOCATION: IRC office / field work
TIME COMMITMENT: minimum 15 hours/wk
·        Assist Employment Specialist along all steps of the employment program, including initial client intake, interview and resume preparation, job referrals, and placement follow-ups
·        Accompany clients to meetings with employers to complete interviews, new hire paperwork, and training activities
·        Co-lead Job Readiness Training (JRT), a biweekly course to prepare recently arrived clients for their first job in the U.S.
·        Coordinate additional trainings for clients, including English Learning Training (ELT), bus orientation, and driver’s permit referrals
·        Research and contact businesses in the Richmond and Henrico area to expand job opportunities available to clients and develop employer partnerships
·        Assist clients with employment-related activities, including shopping for uniforms, setting up direct deposits, and attending appointments at the Department of Social Services (DSS)
·        Schedule client appointments, track and file documentation, and call clients to remind them of upcoming appointments
§ Be flexible. Last-minute changes are expected when working with clients.
§ Be ambitious! The employment intern will take initiative to meet with clients and employers and will take on independent projects.
§ Review the IRC Intern Agreement and conduct yourself accordingly at all times.
§ Remember that IRC Richmond is a professional office so all interns are expected to dress accordingly when on duty.
§ Report your internship hours by the end of each month.

Intern – Internal Process Management

Job Description
Job Summary
Assists department with various procurement functions with an emphasis on technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·        Analyzes EDA spending activity based on dollar amounts for bid threshold assessments.
·        Conducts procurement and compliance benchmarking with similar State Authorities.
·        Conducts research relating to State Procurement.
·        Researches electronic bidding options for receipt of incoming proposals.
·        Researches new procurement bid systems/software.
·        Designs and updates departmental intranet (SharePoint).
·        Designs a “How to Procure with the EDA” brochure for dissemination to prospective vendors.
·        Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers.
·        Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and EDA staff
·        Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constrains with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff
  • Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.
·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software packages
