AmeriCorps Changebuilder Coordinator Position at Drew for 2020-2021

Are you a graduating Senior, a current graduate student or a recent Drew alum? Are you committed to civic engagement and increased volunteerism by Drew students? Consider applying to be next year’s AmeriCorps Changebuilder Coordinator. The position is either Reduced Full-Time or Full-Time (1200-1700 hours for 12 months), starting in September, reporting to staff in Drew’s Center for Civic Engagement. AmeriCorps consists of local, regional, and national organizations committed to using national service members to address critical community needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. In return for their service, members receive among other things, a modest living allowance, health benefits, possible student loan forbearance and the option of receiving a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend. Major duties and responsibilities include increasing Drew students’ participation in community service and civic engagement by recruiting 50 students to volunteer for at least 40 hours each over the course of the year, and supporting existing and creating new community service opportunities.  As part of a statewide cohort of Changebuilder Coordinators, directed by NJ Campus Compact, members will participate in training and professional development workshops.  Email engage@drew.edu for a full position description and information on expectations and benefits.

Full-time Job with the Students Learn Students Vote Coalition

Founded in 2016, the Students Learn Students Vote (SLSV) Coalition is a diverse group of nearly 400 local, state, national, and student nonpartisan organizations working with over 1,700 campuses. We’re the national hub and the largest nonpartisan network in the United States dedicated to increasing student voter participation and civic engagement.  The SLSV Coalition is a project of the National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC).  NCoC is a congressionally chartered organization dedicated to strengthening civic life in America. We pursue our mission through a nationwide network of partners involved in a cutting-edge civic health initiative and our cross-sector conferences. At the core of our joint efforts is the belief that every person has the ability to help their community and country thrive.

The SLSV Coalition is seeking a full-time Manager to project manage Ask Every Student, a full participation, student voter registration program, by leading a steering committee and coordinating award distribution to campuses within the program. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to foster coordination and cooperation among diverse groups. They will be committed to getting results in a fast-paced environment and able to handle a heavy workload. This position is an opportunity to engage with student voting-focused nonprofits, funders, and campuses to help institutionalize meaningful voter registration practices.
