Internships & Jobs of the Week: Arts, Communications & Languages

Senator M. Teresa Ruiz (D) New Jersey Legislature | Communications | Trenton, NJ

Senator Ruiz’s office is looking to hire a recent grad for their communications team.  The job as a communication assistant would entail writing press releases, statements and occasionally OpEds for a set of assigned Senators, as well as handling some media relations, like setting up interviews or passing along quotes to different media outlets. They are not looking for much in terms of experience, really the most important things are self-motivation, strong writing skills and having some interest in politics, the rest they can teach them. If they have some experience, from classes or on campus involvement, with public relations that would definitely give a good foundation. It’s 9 to 5 in the Trenton Senate Majority Office.
