Penguin Random House | Remote Internship | Paid $20 an hour

Penguin Random House will be offering our first remote paid internship opportunity available in one of our adult or children’s editorial departments.  When a book proposal is received, the Editor decides whether or not to pursue it for acquisition. An Editor works with the author to turn the manuscript into a finished book. They negotiate contracts, edit the books for content, structure and on a line-by-line basis, and collaborate with internal departments on how to package, market, and publicize the book. Interns will learn more about the editorial process, publishing industry, and our business through employee speaker series digital events over the course of the program. Fall interns work for 14 hours per week for 8 weeks and are paid $20 hr. Intern schedules will be flexible to account for candidates who may be located in a variety of time zones.  Program Dates: September 28, 2020 – November 20, 2020  Application Deadline: August 16, 2020

National Queer Theater | Remote Internship | Paid ($1000 Stipend)

The Artistic Engagement Intern will assist the Artistic Director with the daily tasks of running the theater, including public programming and community initiatives. This position is remote- applicants need not reside in New York City. Intern will gain skills and mentorship in artistic production, literary management, company management, fundraising, event management, education/applied theater, and marketing. Skills required: Google G Suite (docs, drive, gmail), strong writing, organized, works well independently and collaborating with others. Experience and passion for LGBTQ issues, community organizing, and performing arts are strongly preferred. Farrar, Straus and Company is renowned for its international list of literary fiction, nonfiction, poetry and children’s books. Farrar, Straus and Giroux authors have won extraordinary acclaim over the years, including numerous National Book Awards, Pulitzer Prizes, and twenty-two Nobel Prizes in literature and Nobel Prizes. 2020-2021 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL | Programming Department Internship | NYC / Paid

The TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING DEPARTMENT is looking for creative, hardworking and responsible college students (at least 21 years old by Festival dates) and recent grads (‘19 – ‘20) that have a strong interest in film, film festivals, film related production, and event planning for the 2021 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL. Interns will take direction from the Manager, Programming Operations and assist with the day to day operations of the Programming department. This internship is an incredible opportunity to be immersed and gain essential knowledge of the world of independent film and the independent film industry.
Interns will initially start by assisting the Programming Department (along with other Festival staff members) with various administrative duties and assorted relevant projects. Such duties will include database entry, responding to general Festival inquiries, film and film industry research. Duties and responsibilities will greatly increase as the 2021 Festival approaches. All interns MUST BE AVAILABLE to participate during the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival.
