Summer 2021 | Dublin and the West Coast, Ireland; and Belfast, Northern Ireland

  • Program Fee: $3,900

Take a theatrical journey to Ireland, starting in the Belfast of Swift and C.S. Lewis and venturing across the West Coast landscapes that inspired Yeats and J.M. Synge. See performances in Dublin’s Abbey Theatre and Galway’s Druid Theatre. Discover the cave that shares its name with Tolkien’s Gollum or the castle that still rollicks with banquet hall entertainments. Act, sing, dance and write along the way.

Theatre in the Irish Experience

How does the Irish love of language and story manifest in theatre? How is theatre used to process social and political tensions? To bridge cultural divisions? And how do artists collaborate to create and perform theatrical works?

Engage and Create Musical Theatre

Immerse yourself in the rich music, theatre and dance traditions of Ireland. Attend an array of performances, from folk songs played in a pub to new musicals staged at a festival. Closely read masterworks by canonical and contemporary Irish playwrights. Hone your writing, acting, singing or dancing skills at the International College of Musical Theatre, and perform your own original work.

Creating and collaborating in immersive artistic experiences, students gain an insider’s view of musical theatre on an international stage. This Launch-approved experiential learning program gives students an opportunity to build transferable skills and professional networks as they hone their craft.
