LeaderworX is an integrated experience of active service, community living, faith exploration, ministry training, and leadership development in one incredible summer.
Each year since 2006 LeaderworX has been offered to young adults seeking to develop themselves personally, professionally, and spiritually through service to those in need, education in Catholic Social Teaching, and orientation in peace and justice advocacy. By helping to facilitate the Center for FaithJustice’s youth service immersion experiences, LeaderworX community members minister to middle and high school students as they seek to grow in faith, serve others, and develop a deeper understanding of justice.
Young adults will be serving as leaders and facilitators on week-long over-night service immersion programs for high schoolers and/or half-day service programs for middle schoolers. LeaderworX will be engaging with our program participants by leading them at various service projects with our local community partners during the day, and facilitating intentional activities and groups discussions during the afternoon/evening that unpack important topics of social injustice, and how one’s faith calls them to respond through action. The LeaderworX program schedule includes three full weeks (one at the beginning, middle, and end of the summer) for training, faith formation, and community bonding for our young adults.
LeaderworX is for young adults seeking to discern how they can work for justice, peace, and human dignity. It is also a great opportunity for those considering a long-term service program, discerning how to make the world a better place, or just trying to figure out what is next in life.
Young adults have the option to commit to one of three program time-frames:
(1) Full Summer (9 weeks)
(2) First 2/3rds of Summer (First 6 weeks)
(3) Second 2/3rds of Summer (Last 6 weeks)
