CAI (Cicatelli Associates Inc.) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the full-time position of

Manager, Community and Youth Engagement to Promote Health Equity. The Manager will work as part of a team, under direction of the Buffalo Office Director, to engage, mobilize, and build the capacity of community members, youth, and young adults in the Buffalo community to participate in community-driven processes to identify, implement and evaluate interventions and systems changes to address health disparities in chronic disease, tobacco cessation, STIs, and pregnancy that include addressing social determinants of health across a range of Buffalo-based initiatives and for CAI initiatives more broadly – as identified. This position is temporarily remote but will be based in Buffalo, NY.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Responsibilities:

· Implement best practice strategies, working as part of a team, to ensure that community members and youth are continuously involved and that the voice from the community is a major driver in accomplishing initiative activities.

· Maintains working relationships with community agencies, other stakeholders, and community members, to support activities to improve health outcomes for youth and young adults.

· Provide individual mentoring and motivate continued participation of youth and young adults in project-related activities

· Facilitate all communication with youth and young adults including maintenance of contact list, facilitate meeting announcements and registration, and updates to website.

· Use data and information to continually improve community and youth engagement strategies and approaches with evaluation team leads.

· As part of a team, prepare and deliver community and youth capacity building curriculums, resources and tools

· Record and disseminate notes from meetings and capacity building events

· Utilize project management databases and training management systems to record project results and schedule training events

· Provide support to project staff in monitoring budget expenditures and addressing funder reporting requirements.

· Ensure adherence to funder, federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.

· Provide expertise to CAI initiatives broadly – as identified

HOPE Buffalo Initiative Responsibilities

· Work, as part of a team, to plan, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve activities to strengthen Buffalo-based youth mentoring and workforce development programs to enhance reach within priority populations.

· Support activities to replicate CARS-STI marketing screening intervention in Buffalo Public Schools (BPS).

· Support activities conducted by Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) and BPS to implement STI screening processes , and strengthen referral, linkage systems.

REACH Initiative Responsibilities

· Work as part of a team to support capacity building activities associated with, the formation and maintenance of Community Wellness Champions (CWC) to plan and implement initiative activities.

· Support activities to facilitate communication with CWC members including maintenance of contact list, facilitate meeting announcements and registration, and updates to REACH Project website.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS:

· Master’s degree in public health, community engagement, and social work or a related field or equivalent professional experience.

· At least five years of program management experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience.

· Significant knowledge of the Buffalo Community.

· Ability to establish rapport and work productively and sensitively with diverse stakeholders, community members and partners, including youth.

· Ability to identify and leverage existing resources to support achievement of initiative objectives.

· Has applied knowledge of principles and practices in community mobilization.

· Demonstrated capacity to analyze administrative, personnel and organizational problems and identify appropriate solutions.

· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for professional and community audiences.

· Knowledge of various word processing/computer programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

· Team-player and self-starter.

· Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires working in an office and local travel (as public health conditions permit). It requires bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving and set-up of training materials and resources. The position requires daily use of a personal computer and requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid driver’s license; proof of auto liability insurance; and have the use of a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
