This position works with the Director of Library Collections & Electronic Resources Librarian and the current Acquisitions Assistant II to update and maintain the Library’s periodicals and electronic resources collections. Federal Work study eligible students are given first priority in hiring.
Duties and Functions:
Job duties include (but are not limited to) using library computer system to check in print periodicals, shelving periodicals and newspapers, maintaining accurate records in the Library catalog, using Google sheets and Excel to maintain accurate records and assist with organization of our collection, and other special projects as needed. On the job training is provided.

Initiative and creative thought are highly desirable and encouraged in this position. Although initially many of the tasks are routine, previous students in this position have taken ownership of special projects and contributed significantly to the success of the project.
Transferrable Skills include project management, problem solving, collaboration and technology skills.
Hours are available from Monday-Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM. Some of the hours must coincide with the current Acquisitions Assistant: Monday/Wednesday 9AM- 11 AM, any hours on Friday 9AM-5 PM, some hours Tuesday/Thursday may be available. Some hours from 5-10 PM may be available. 7-10 hours per week is required. Hours may be flexible.
The position is for the academic year, i.e. both fall and spring semesters with the opportunity to continue from year to year throughout the student’s academic career at Drew. January and summer hours may also be available.
