As an Electronics Technician Trainee, you will be able to gain knowledge and experience with the Bureau’s electronic communications systems, data networks, and access control systems through direct participation in repair, maintenance, and installation functions. You will be able to gain valuable experience working with electronics systems that ensure on-site safety and provide critical support to investigative operations.
Selected applicants will be assigned to work with Telecommunications Managers and/or senior Electronics Technicians for on-the-job training to gain experience with the work FBI Electronics Technicians do on a daily basis in FBI Field Offices. Throughout this Not-To-Exceed (NTE) 2 year assignment, trainees will build upon the experience they already have and be provided assignments to help prepare them to qualify for a permanent FBI Electronics Technician position. Successful trainees will obtain the experience needed to qualify for and be offered a permanent FBI Electronics Technician position. Unsuccessful trainees will be removed from FBI employment.
