The Education and Tour Management Intern will work directly with the Museum Sites & Education Manager. Interns must commit a minimum of 12 hours per week for this internship with some weekend work as necessary. Since this is an unpaid internship, interns are encouraged to earn academic credit for this experience. Please consult with your faculty advisor.

Intern duties will include outreach to school groups, summer camps, and Boy & Girl scout groups to promote summer educational programming. Intern duties also include assisting in the evaluation of educational programs and public tours and the creation of materials for the promotion of tours and programs. They will assist with educational and public programming for Blueberry Festival in July and Musikfest in August. Interns will gain experience with education program planning, outreach, and evaluation. They will also gain valuable exposure to site management and volunteer outreach.

The successful intern will be organized and able to work on multiple projects at a time. The successful intern will exhibit an eagerness and ability to learn quickly, as well as the willingness to ask questions when they are uncertain. The successful intern will be able to work with visitors of all ages and will demonstrate great public speaking skills.

Ability to work with diverse groups of visitors and obtain education clearances is required. It is not required for interns to already have their education clearances, but it is preferred. Prior experience in history education, program management, and/or volunteer outreach is a plus, though not required.
