Calvary Baptist Christian School is a private Christian school. It was founded 50 years ago as a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. Calvary Baptist is a comprehensive preK3-12th grade with 350+. The region is experiencing many families looking afresh for quality education in a Christian environment. The enrollment trends favor choosing a school like Calvary Baptist School. The school is located in lovely southeastern Pennsylvania, in the city of Lansdale. The school is approximately one hour north and west of center-city Philadelphia and just south of Allentown. Calvary ministers to students from various school districts including Boyertown, Central Bucks, Methacton, Norristown, North Penn, Pennridge, Perkiomen Valley, Quakertown, Souderton, Upper Perkiomen, and Wissahickon. Pre-covid, Calvary has also ministered to students from various countries including China, South Korea, Japan, the Ukraine, & Vietnam.
In the 4-year high school, Students are expected to take an average of 6.25 credits per year, and students must have 25 credits to graduate. Students may take up to 8 credits per year. AP courses are offered in English Language and Composition, Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, Statistics, and US History. AP is an open enrollment program. Honors classes are offered in 9th grade English, 10th grade English, 10thgrade History, 11th grade English, 12th grade Government, Trig/Pre-Calculus, and Algebra III. Additional College Prep courses offered include Algebra II, Advanced Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy/Physiology, and Business Management.
Calvary offers a vocational track of classes and modified workload adjustments for those who have documented learning needs, a special needs program for those students who require one-on-one or small group instruction, and an ESL program for our international students.
The Head of School reports to the school board as its sole employee and functions as the CEO of the organization—the chief spiritual, academic, and fiscal leader of the school and the overall director of institutional development. He or she must embody, manifest, and advocate the mission of the school. The Head of School must also clearly articulate the vision for the school and its future. The Head of School is responsible for the planning and execution of all educational efforts and for the funding support of these efforts. The Head of School will lead the annual fundraising efforts. He or she is the representative of all employees to the board and conveys to the employees all policies and procedures approved by the board. The Head of School’s ultimate objective is to lead an educational venture in a way that creatively shapes the culture of Calvary Baptist School and promotes the school’s mission to provide a caring environment where students are taught to think biblically, serve effectively, and lead Christ-centered lives.
