The Drew Democratic Socialists is a student run group committed to bringing civil political discourse to all members of the Drew community, including but not limited to political and economic theory, electoral politics, political organizing, national and global current events, and contemporary systemic issues related to democratic socialism. DSOC represents the indisputable wave of social oriented thinking which has swept our campus and nation and offers the Drew community a space to discuss ideas under a different umbrella of thought.
The fundamental questions which interest our group include, but are not limited to: What might be the positive and negative implications of an equitable economy? What are the consequences of Western capitalism and corporate greed on societies, cultures and economies of the developing world? Are human beings naturally individualistic or are we inherently egalitarian at heart? We are devoted towards discussing, sharing and learning ways in which our economy and society may be reconstructed in alternate modes to benefit the people in this room, those living in our country, and extensively people of the entire world.
