We are Drew University’s Sketch Comedy Group!! Welcome to our page on The Path! Let us tell you a little bit about how we operate as a group on campus 🙂
Towards the beginning of each academic year, we hold auditions for all Drew students interested in joining. We have a group of actors, writers, editors, and directors and love diversifying our team for each performance! Each show has a theme, to which our writers will create the hilarious scripts, and the actors and directors get assigned to different sketches. After that we rehearse and create the silliest memories you’ll have on campus until showtime!
Overall we are a platform for students, not just in the theatre department but from all majors and interests, to explore comedy and advance their skills and knowledge in the art. The Goof Troop also experiments with stand up and filmed sketches! Don’t want to perform but want feedback on your comedy? We also have opportunities for students to try material out on the group privately for feedback and support! The troop hopes to have new faces on the stage each show and are constantly looking to give students a college experience in comedy. All are welcome and encouraged to come join the goofy goober gang!!
